Latexport fue constituida en septiembre de 1996 y su propósito inicial era la fabricación de guantes de látex para uso odontológico y médico quirúrgico. Posteriormente giro hacia la fabricación de guantes para uso doméstico e industrial en el color tradicional (negro-industrial / amarillo-doméstico). Sus fundadores fueron los señores: Francisco Vélez Gómez, Jorge Iván Loaiza, Luis Guillermo Velásquez, Federico y Orlando Almanza. Latexport se estableció en el Municipio de Guarne (Antioquia), ya que sus fundadores tenían una fábrica de productos odontológicos en dicho Municipio y así se les facilitaba aprovechar las sinergias de la otra Compañía durante los procesos de puesta en marcha, seguimiento y control. Adicionalmente se incorporó la comercialización de productos afines con el canal de distribución actual y durante los últimos años se han codificado nuevas referencias. Estos cambios han representado un crecimiento en las ventas anuales de un 25%.
