At Urbania Cafe we know that the wellbeing of the growers and their families is crucial, that is why we work with farmers that have been victims of the war or that are or have been in a position of vulnerability. We work together with them from the seed to the harvest and post harvest so that they improve the quality and we are able to pay them a better price. Like this, we are able to produce in our roaster, a high quality coffee, knowing the whole chain form the seed to the cup, in a socially and environmentally friendly way. Urbania Café is a 100% Colombian owned company, established in 2015 in Medellin, Colombia. Our goal is to provide our customers the best Colombian specialty coffees from different origins. Urbania also has a specialty coffee shop in Medellin. At Urbania Café, we are constantly looking around Colombia, for coffees which we consider “special” and unique, always top quality. We buy the green bean directly from the grower, paying them an extra 20%-30%, even up to 300%, as we believe that the farmer needs to be rewarded with good price for their excellent quality. We also assist our growers in the harvest and post harvest to help them improve quality and production. We work with coffee growers from areas that have suffered from different aspects, supporting them so that they can have better infrastructure, in order to have better quality, better prices and better income. BURITICA: Area affected by the violence that comes from illegal gold mines. GRAMALOTE: Small town that disappeared in 2010 due to a geologic fault. Since then, they have been living in shelters, 2 hours away from their farms. GRANADA: Area affected by the war for more than three decades. All of our coffees are at least 82 points in the SCAA scale, 100% special, 100% Colombian, and 100% of origin. We roast our coffee at a medium roast, or according to our customer needs.
