A Ethikabio possui 2 anos e almeja preservar o bioma da Caatinga e Amazônia mediante a comercialização dos produtos regionais (principalmente no mercado externo), agregando valor (seja via certificação ou outros modelos) para acessar os mercados externos. Dessa forma, consegue-se (i) dar sustentabilidade em um modelo de negócio que possui margens, resultando em (ii) transferência de renda para a agricultura familiar (inclusive capacitação pois temos ótima relação com o Sebrae) que (iii) fixando-se na comunidade, mantém a preservação do ecossistema e contribui para evitar a deterioração das condições climáticas. A visão da Ethikabio é a de que o Brasil é visto como um eficiente exportador de commodities agrícolas, mas outros bens agro (e.g, mel) não têm o mesmo status. Isto acarreta em uma volatilidade do fluxo comercial de produtos orgânicos, o que impede um crescimento sustentável do volume comercializado e, assim, das condições econômico-sociais. A nossa proposta é trazer as políticas públicas existentes, tecnologias já maduras, pesquisadores de universidades e os profissionais do mercado privado para tornar crível o desenvolvimento da cadeia de produtos orgânicos, especialmente da agricultura familiar do Nordeste e Norte. Observamos que a maior dor das empresas nascentes que atuam junto à biodiversidade brasileira têm uma grande dor, que é ganhar tração pois a demanda doméstica brasileira é muito restrita para produtos que têm um grau de preço impeditivo para a maior parte da população do Brasil. Dessa forma, a proposta da Ethikabio é abrir um leque maior de possibilidades de demanda, dado o expertise que a equipe tem no que tange às questões logísticas, tributária, burocrática, linguagem, cultura de outros países e dos produtos que comercializa. Há tecnologias ainda não usufruídas pela cadeia, como instrumentos de rastreabilidade que permitam maior confiança a todos de onde vem os produtos, e como contribuem para a questão sócio-ambiental. No que tange à pesquisa, há produtos que podem ser valorizados com a devida pesquisa, e não necessariamente precisam ser break throughs, já que existem no exterior produtos com elevado valor, e com características até relativamente inferiores se comparadas ao item brasileiro. O diferencial é que no Brasil não houve o investimento em P&D.
