Chepito Healing Oil (CHO) is a Suriname-based natural cosmetics company founded in June 2015 by Cynthia Boëtius-Draaibaar, a certified formulator with expertise in aromatherapy, herbal therapy, dermatherapy, and haircare formulation. CHO specializes in creating healing-oriented hair and skincare products made from high-quality natural and organic ingredients, combining traditional plant wisdom with modern formulation techniques. The company was born out of Cynthia’s personal journey of healing after severe hair loss due to surgery and illness. In search of a solution, she created her own natural oil blend at home. The results were so remarkable that she felt a calling to share it with others. This product, now known as Grace Hair Oil, remains one of CHO’s bestsellers and symbolizes the company’s mission: to restore, nourish, and empower through nature. Today, CHO offers a growing range of over 25 products, including shampoos, conditioners, herbal hair oils, body butters, and skin care oils. Many of these formulations are developed with a therapeutic purpose—to promote hair growth, reduce hair loss, and support the healing of common skin issues. Several water-based products are already tested and compliant with international microbiological safety standards (ISO 11930). In addition to product development, CHO is deeply committed to social impact. Through its Women Naturepreneur Club and Junior Naturepreneur Club, the company provides paid training programs in natural cosmetics and business skills. These initiatives are designed to empower women and youth, especially from underserved communities, equipping them to start their own small businesses with confidence and creativity.
