Casa Carmulita S.A. de C.V., owner of the 100% artisanal mezcal brand CASA XAMU, is a family-owned mezcal producer founded in 1950 in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, Mexico, the world-famous Mezcal Capital. As fourth-generation master distillers, we are committed to preserving traditional craftsmanship and offering premium artisanal mezcals that reflect the authenticity, culture, and heritage of Mexico. Each bottle is handcrafted using mature agave plants harvested between 7 and 20 years old. Our production process follows traditional methods: cooking in underground conical stone ovens, milling with a stone tahona (stone mill), natural fermentation in pine wood vats, and double distillation in copper stills over a wood fire. This process results in mezcals of exceptional quality, complexity, and consistency. Our portfolio includes Espadín, Espadín-Tobalá Ensemble, Tobalá, Madrecuishe, Tepeztate, and Espadín distilled with organic coffee. Each expression offers a distinctive sensory profile, ranging from soft citrus and vanilla notes to intense aromas of cacao, earthy minerals, herbal freshness, and roasted coffee. Casa Xamu has a monthly production capacity of 20,000 liters and supplies both the national and international markets. Our products are available in 750 ml, 700 ml, and 60 ml bottles, with an alcohol content ranging from 37% to 45%, depending on the variety, which we can customize to the customer's preference. All our mezcals have the Protected Designation of Origin Mezcal and are produced exclusively in the Valley of Oaxaca, Mexico.
