Eddie Ajalcriña

I am an expert in bio-businesses, the bioeconomy and the circular economy, with particular experience in Amazon bio-businesses. I build and invest in businesses based on Latin America's living systems, and I treat them as an investment opportunity, not as charity. I do it with a team from Redesign Lab, the impact venture studio specialized in bioeconomy that I co-founded and lead as CEO. Our portfolio reached USD 26M in revenue in 2025, with more than 2,500 families in our value chains. I work on three fronts: → Bio-businesses. With Bio Business School and the Bio Business Playbook we help founders and advisors build businesses that hold up in critical territories such as the Amazon, the Andes and the coast. We have developed 10 bio-businesses in our portfolio; I assessed 25 Amazon bio-businesses for NESsT's AmazonBeEco programme and presented Amazon bio-businesses at COP16 on Biodiversity. → Circular economy. With Circular Club we build the business case for circular measures, with the Circular LatAm Playbook and a pilot AI kit. I teach circular economy at MIT Professional Education since 2022. → Impact capital. As CEO of Fondo de Impacto, and helping companies get ready to raise capital. I have raised USD 1.5M in impact debt from international funds. More than 15 years across the private sector (fisheries, aquaculture and food), international cooperation with the European Union, and entrepreneurship.
