Pilar Cerón

I am an International Business Consultant and university lecturer in Colombia, Panama and Miami in topics related to International Business and Foreign Investment. I have over 10 years of experience in International Business, Foreign Investment, Corporate Affairs, Business Development -managing external relations and monitoring legislative and trade instruments with extensive professional experience in Colombia, Panamá, the U.S market and Latin America. Pilar has wide knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (“FTAs”) gained as Negotiator of International Investment Agreements (“IIAs”). She was part of negotiating Bilateral Investment Agreements and FTAs with several countries on behalf of Colombia’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism. She has experience in providing advice to economic operators and investors on access to market, international business and foreign investment, as well as providing advice and legal, commercial and business development support to potential investors and investors already installed in the country and the Latin American region. I have organized, led and successfully carried out multiple Trade Missions and B2B meetings to different destinations in her former role as Trade and Investment Director for the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama (“Amcham Panama”). I am experienced in working and liaising with the private and public sectors and several multilateral organizations on trade and development issues such as the U.S Chamber of Commerce, UNCTAD, the WTO, WCO, IFC and the World Bank, among others. I hold a Master’s degree in law in London at UCL (University College London) with background in Research, Lecturing and Publications in British and Latin American Journals. I'm currently the Managing Director and Founding Partner of Xtrategy Business and Investment Center in Colombia as well as Regional Director for Conway, Inc.
