Lawrence Placide

I am a Consultant in International Trade and Development at Ideas to Business Limited (http://i2biz.strikingly.com). My clients have included governments, business support organizations and private businesses in the Caribbean and Latin America, the former geographical area being my particular area of expertise and knowledge.

Within international trade, my strength is international trade in services. I have been a national and regional negotiator of international trade agreement and have otherwise involved in seeking to build the national and regional services sector. I have been a Member of the CRNM’s (now Office of Trade Negotiations) College of Negotiations for a number of years for FTAA, EPA and now CARICOM-Canada trade negotiations. Much of my more recent work has involved implementation of Economic Partnership Agreement between CARIFORUM and the European Union.

I am a former Vice-President of the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce, Board Member of AMCHAM, Trinidad and Tobago and the first President of the Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries.

This services focus notwithstanding my experience in international trade includes work in trade in goods as well. I also service private sector clients in this ares.
