Saavedra Becerra Abogados is a modern boutique law firm founded in 2010 in the city of Bogotá (Colombia), formed by experienced and top of the line professionals, with excellent credentials and whose main goal is serving its clients’ interests in the best possible way. Saavedra Becerra Abogados belongs to the Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure (CCI), the Legal Service Chamber of the National Association of Industrialists (ANDI), Lexology, Legal 500, International Bar Association and Two of its main assets are its own founding partners: Ramiro Saavedra Becerra, is a highly recognized figure in the public law sector. He is a former justice of the Cauca Valley (Valle del Cauca) Administrative Tribunal and of the Council of State (Colombia’s highest public law court) where he also acted as its President. In the Council of State, Mr. Saavedra was part of the Section 3 of the High Court which is the one in charge of all litigation regarding public procurement and state liability. Currently, he is part of the list of arbitrators at the Chamber of Commerce of Cali and Bogotá. As an arbitrator, Mr. Saavedra has had the opportunity to be part of some of the most important disputes in Colombia. He has also litigated in important cases before Arbitral Panels, the State Council, the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court. He is professor of state liability and administrative law at the most prestigious universities in Colombia. He is the author of the best-seller book on state liability, “De la responsabilidad patrimonial del Estado”. Carlos Francisco Saavedra, the firm’s managing partner, is a lawyer with two specializations, one in public law and the other one in commercial law. Also, he has a Master´s Degree in Public Law and a Double Global MBA from Tulane University (New Orleans) and Icesi University Colombia. This knowledge and combination between Law and Business, which Mr Saavedra constantly shares with everyone in the firm, has allowed Saavedra Becerra Abogados to understand all of its client’s strategic needs, how their industries work and most important, how to add value.
