The main objective is to complement the existing preliminary studies to develop a comprehensive executive design that guarantees the reliability, road safety and sustainability of the corridor for the international transit of goods and people.

1. Technical scope and engineering studies
Traffic study and geometric design: Modeling of traffic volumes, estimation of growth rates and geometric design based on the SIECA manual (Rural Minor Artery - ARM standard) or AASHTO, with validation from the General Directorate of Roads (DGC).

Topography and rights of way: Survey of polygons (stations every 20 m on tangents and 10 m on curves) and cadastre of land affected by extensions or changes in layout for the design of right-of-way plans.

Geotechnics and pavements: Execution of pits, SPT soundings, soil characterization, rotary soundings for bridge foundations and structural design of flexible pavement, including the slope protection solution.

Hydrology, hydraulics and structures: Georeferenced inventory of existing drainage, pathological diagnosis of bridges to be reused and hydraulic/structural design of new vaults and bridges with channel profiles every 10 m.

2. Environmental, social and safety assessment
Socio-environmental management: Evaluation of physical, biological, and socioeconomic impacts under the IDB's Environmental and Social Policy Framework, with a priority focus on the impacts on the indigenous populations settled in the section.

Comprehensive road safety: Analysis of interaction between pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles for the definition of protection and signaling solutions in accordance with the Central American Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (SIECA 2014).

3. Economic evaluation and bidding documents
Profitability analysis: Quantification of work quantities, structuring of unit prices and calculation of indicators at account prices (NPV with a 12% rate, TIRE, B/C and IBAN), accompanied by sensitivity analysis.

Bidding documents: Drafting of special technical specifications (description, materials, tolerances, measurement) and preparation of bidding documents under standard IDB formats.

Note: Interested companies should review the requirements on the BEO Bidder Portal.
