Sobre mí
Rachelle Olortegui was born in Lima – Peru and moved to Australia at age 17, while living there she became actively involved in horticulture with native Australian plants. Through this she developed a passion for environmental awareness and the importance of sustainable environmentally friendly organic farming. Her dream was to work with Peruvian products while making a change in farmer’s life in rural areas of Peru. She returned to Peru to turn that dream into reality. Her project started with a small group of 8 farmers in Peru, the ideas were set: “To produce the finest organic herbal teas and native grains grown in an environmentally friendly way while providing a fair deal for the farmers”. To get things moving was an exciting challenge which took a lot a dedication and it has already borne fruit with a positive social impact on the communities where the project develops Ecoinca.Ecoinca Project has achieved a direct impact to 135 families in Peru and provides them with free technical support from the sowing to the harvest, organic certification, and we also provide them with micro loans, seeds and fertilizers so they can have a sustainable organic production.
