Application Penetration Testing: In application pentesting, the application is thoroughly probed in order to identify any possible vulnerability or weakness. Several application-specific test cases (based on global standards like the OWASP Top 10) are executed against the application and the results are then analyzed to determine whether or not a vulnerability or weakness exists. Mobile Penetration Testing: Mobile pentesting follows the same principle as application pentesting, however, it is focused on identifying risks on mobile applications. Even though it follows the same principle, approaching a mobile application is entirely different in terms of risk and attack surface. Network Penetration Testing: Consists in probing the different nodes conforming target network in order to identify any possible information security risk. Vulnerability Assessment: After a vulnerability is identified, it has to be analyzed, assessed and classified according to the risk it represents and the level of exploitability. This helps identify priorities and define countermeasures accordingly.
