Desde 1969 el señor Rubén López Martinez (fundador) inicio su pequeño taller en la comunidad de San Pablo Villa de Mitla, Oaxaca, con un telar de pedal y tejiendo rebozos. Encontró en esta actividad, una forma de obtener ingresos económicos, que además, le permitió contribuir en preservar la cultura del tejido oaxaqueño.
