Maracao Beachwear is an exclusive line of swimwear, clothing and accessories inspired by the textures of nature in the exotic Costa Rica and the love for traveling around the world where our inspiration becomes wearable art. The label was born with the purpose of empowering women, from the ones who wear our designs to all the ones involved in the creation process while implementing a sustainable and ethical approach. Our mission is to make women feel free, comfortable, and most of all confident about themselves by giving the best experience and support in their active life by blending fashion and function in styles created to Mix and Match resulting in endless looks that all women will want in their wardrobe or suitcase. The designer Andrea Baltodano along her team envision every piece focused on their customer, the modern, free spirited and adventurous women always committed to the slow fashion guidelines that result in high quality and durable pieces with timeless designs that are made to last. Slow fashion is a conscious effort to move away from the excessive consumerism of trendy low quality pieces that have a huge negative impact socially and environmentally. With the purpose of rescuing and keeping traditional garment techniques alive we have innovated the use of handmade macramé and crochet knitting design along our artisans giving meaning to how it was made and who made it. We strive to implement ethical employment practices securing fair payment and treatment of our workers, most of them women who are talented and passionate about what they do. Also we use our platform to educate consumers about the problems the fashion industry is facing and to inspire them to be a part of the change.
