About me
I am a Peruvian designer of hand crafted ceramic to enhance home and business interiors. I work at this together with my family and artisans friends in my workshop located in my native town of Chulucanas, Department of Piura, Northern coast of Peru. We use the same technique revived fifty years ago in Chulucanas, where originally born and flourished our pre-Inca Vicus culture. This culture which reached its zenith in around 500 AD, developed pottery of indisputable beauty. The technique consisted of using a wood paddle and a stone to give the desired shape without the benefit of a potter's wheel. Unlike the pottery made in other regions of this mystical country, Chulucanas ceramic differs from other types of pottery in its excellent finish and in tones of colour that are generally lighter than in other types of pottery. I did the following exhibitions: 1. - 1492 LATIN FUSION; Marianella Abadi; 404 North End Road, London SW6 1LU, UK 207 381 3810 2. – SAN DIEGO MUSEUM OF MAN; Douglas Sharon, Ph.D., Director; 1350 El Prado, Balboa Park, San Diego, California 92101, USA 619 239 2001 3. - THE LATINO MUSEUM OF HISTORY, ART AND CULTURE; Denise Lugo, Director; 112 S.
