Industrial Administrator | MBA | FSC® Lead Auditor | CEO at Ecotopia Teak | Panama Teak/ Sustainable Forestry Ambassador CEO of Ecotopia Teak since 2012, I lead a company that has redefined Panama’s teak industry, achieving the highest economic and per-cubic-meter performance in the country. We manage 1,200 hectares of FSC®-certified teak plantations, including our own lands, investor-managed forests, and client holdings in Eastern Panama. We are a pioneer in high-precision, value-added teak processing. We are the only company in Panama exporting processed teak to Europe, with a growing presence in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden, Italy and Spain. I´m actively involved in strategic consulting to advance certified commercial forestry in Panama, advocating for greater inclusion of women professionals in the industry. I have represented regional forest employers at the ILO in Geneva (2019) and Panama (2022), showcasing our modernization model that integrates indigenous and minority workers in a post-COVID-19 automated industry. We just received a recognition for a child labor free company that keeps kids in school. In 2020, my business innovation project secured a $200,000 non-reimbursable grant (PFIE-FIEL-2020-I-20) to implement a semi-automated, AI-enhanced grading line, increasing efficiency and transparency in our FSC-certified processing plant in Chepo. We earned at Dubai Woodshow 2022, the Commitment CSR Award (2023) for our dedication to sustainable corporate social development. We are currently looking for new investors, distributors and strategic partners to expand our presence in Europe and the U.S. to expand our operations a brand our Panama Teak as the plantation teak with high quality for the world.
