Nancy Moya

Nancy Moya is freelance reporter at Mundo Ejecutivo, a Spanish language online magazine targeted to the business markets in Mexico and Latin America. She is also a freelancer for The News, a Mexican English-language newspaper that is published in Mexico City. Moya was born in El Paso Texas, but grew up across the border in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. Fifteen years later, she moved to the United States where she earned a BA in Journalism/Mass Communications at New Mexico State University (NMSU). After college, she dove right in to her career as a news reporter for El Diario de El Paso where she wrote news stories related to immigration and business topics on the borderland. Three years ago, she expanded her freelance experience in Europe by writing feature stories in Spanish for El Ibérico, the only Spanish newspaper located in London. She also acquired international experience at Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle, where she wrote articles about sustainability topics and their impact with German companies in Latin America. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and participated in the Student Projects in 2006. While attending NMSU, she obtained two awards from NAHJ including the Ruben Salazar and Maria Elena Salinas scholarship fund. Along with her career in journalism, she also has three years of experience working with small businesses as a Public Relations/Business Development Manager and sustainability consultant for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) report. Last year, she earned a MA in Multidisciplinary Studies in Communications and Business Management at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). She is currently the Managing Director for Eureka Sustainable Consulting, a company that provides services including communications and corporate reputation, green marketing, public relations and branding, among others.
