About me

Jeunanne Alkins is a Caribbean creative director, educator, and writer. She designs goods and experiences that rely on play and discovery to connect everyone, everywhere. For nearly 20 years, Jeunanne’s work has combined rich storytelling with bold, immersive design, bringing people of all ages closer to history, culture, and the environment. Widely skilled, Jeunanne has written and illustrated children’s books, conceptualized an animated series, made an interactive museum out of a magnificent castle, and developed some of the region’s biggest brands. Her projects reach beyond traditional media, converting ordinary people into explorers of the world around them — and audiences into advocates. As a child, Jeunanne was nurtured by an entrepreneurial family proud of its vibrant Caribbean heritage. After studying at the University of the West Indies, she joined MACO Magazine, a publication still revered for pioneering contemporary Caribbean design. Soon after, she founded her design studio, Everything Slight Pepper, earning clients that ranged from small businesses to celebrities. In 2016, Jeunanne launched an ed-tech brand - Bright Eyed, which produces inclusive storytelling and immersive experiences for the kids and family market. Most recently, she published 3 storybooks and produced an exhibition in Stollmeyer’s Castle, a heritage site considered one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most important works of architecture. The exhibition attracted thousands of visitors, setting a new record for the historic attraction. In addition to consulting on and executing creative projects, Jeunanne is also developing an art and storytelling pedagogy — to nurture new generations of fearless creators.
