Emma Perot

Dr Emma Perot Co-Founder Emma Perot is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies. She is an expert in the field of intellectual property and entertainment law, with a particular focus on the right of publicity. She obtained her PhD from King's College London in 2020, where she was fully funded as a Dickson Poon Scholar. She has presented her research at the European Policy for Intellectual Property conference in Berlin, Society of Legal Scholars conference in London and Oxford IP Discussion Group. Emma obtained her LLM with Distinction from University College London and was head of written submissions for the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot team. She was a Kennedy Scholar at Lincoln's Inn where she was called to the Bar in 2016. During her Bar examinations, she was a director of the pro-bono organisation, 'Own-It', which provided IP advice to the creative sector. Prior to this, she achieved her LLB with First Class Honours from the University of Kent where she received the Chancellor's Scholarship for Trinidad and Tobago and the Hallett’s Prize for best external competition mooter. Emma is well suited to inform clients on strategies for exploiting their images in the advertising, merchandising, movie and video game industries. She can also inform on the protection of brands, creative works and patents, as well as management of intellectual property assets.
