Uche Isiugo
About me
Uche C. Isiugo, Jr. is the CEO and Managing Partner of Emerging Infrastructure Capital. He is an Investment, Project Finance & Commercial Management executive with a track record in investments and development of Solar photovoltaic (PV), Wind energy and energy storage projects, gas infrastructure, technology, aviation and transport sectors. He has had broad responsibility in project finance, commercial, asset management, project development, power marketing and regulatory as Director at Key Capture Energy (New York) and Portfolio Manager at NextEra Energy (Florida). At NextEra Energy, the world’s largest renewable energy generator, Uche was the Team Lead of the utility scale energy storage portfolio group, and jointly managed the $10 billion project finance portfolio, comprising 11 GW in Solar & Wind projects, which garnered the Innovation Award. The portfolio included a variety of investor tax equity, rated debt, back leverage and construction loan structures. Prior to that, he worked in the Citigroup investment banking team, where he supported the execution of key mandates, including power asset acquisition bids and the then-largest Eurobond ($300 million) in Nigeria. Preceding his work at Citigroup, Uche was employed for several years at The Boeing Company where he provided corporate financial analysis, guided investment decisions, and in 2009, won first place in the annual VP Finance Award, across over 25 other finance teams for generating record corporate savings. Uche is an Adjunct Professor at Florida Atlantic University where he teaches Mergers & Acquisitions in the Executive MBA Program. He holds dual Bachelors degrees in Finance and Economics from Temple University, an MBA from Seattle Pacific University, and a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of New Orleans.
