Javette Nixon

Javette Nixon is the Founder, President & CEO of Point Global Marketing Limited (POINT) where he oversees and directs its overall operations. POINT is a marketing and brand development firm that focuses on the overall marketing, promotions and brand design for companies both locally and internationally. Javette is also a director of Vein Centers of Jamaica, a boutique medical practice that focuses on the minimally invasive treatment of venous disease.

He has over a decade of experience in a variety of industries gained both in the United States and Jamaica. His passions and experiences are diverse, ranging from volunteerism and philanthropy, to web development and design, economics, commerce, media, e-commerce, banking and Internet marketing.

Prior to forming POINT, Javette founded his first business at the age of 23; Leisure Point Global Services that worked as a management company to two ecommerce websites www.yaadsale.com and www.allthingsjamaican.com that were used to sell and market Jamaican products overseas. Javette has also worked at Edgechem Jamaica Limited as Manager - Special Projects, providing leadership and support of the Edgechem Brand. Javette joined Edgechem from MCIS Advance where he was responsible for coordinating sales and marketing activities associated with vehicle expense management and the Advance brand. He has also worked for Walberg Cepeda Lending LLC in the United Stated and Capital & Credit Merchant Bank.

Javette has done extensive community work through several organizations, most notably serving as vice-chairman for the St. Thomas Association of Youth Organization (STAYO), an umbrella organization for Youth, Community Clubs and Service Organizations in St. Thomas from 1999-2003. And in his founding of the Social & Economic Alliance for Development (SEAD) in February 2009 - a policy-oriented organization that supports national developmental programs, advocacy, policymaking and a multi-functional approach in fostering national progress.

He holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of the West Indies Mona and a Master’s of Science Degree in Sustainable Development (Environmental Economics) from the University of London. He is a graduate of the Technology Innovation Centre Incubator program at the University of Technology, and a graduate of the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship. He is also the season one winner of NCB Capital Quest; NCB Capital Quest is a just concluded reality TV series on TVJ. Over the seven episodes of the first season, seven Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) competed for an equity investment of up to $50 million JMD.

His other interests include sustainable development theory, traveling and football. Javette is married to Dr. Hilary Brown Nixon and they have a wonderful son, Adlai.
