An award winning professional and a Physician by profession graduated from the class of 1986-1991 at S.V. University Medical College, Tirupati-India. Migrated to Jamaica in early 1992 and since then, he worked in various capacities as a medical officer in the health care system of Jamaica between the various private and public sector entities.

A compassionate and caring physician with over 20 years of medical experience in Jamaica and 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur in the field of Pharmaceuticals, FMCGs - Fast moving Consumer Goods & Knowledge Park Developments. In recognition of his sterling contribution to the field of medical practice, the 2008 inaugural award by the Medical Association Jamaica was awarded to Dr. Muppuri as the “Good Physician of the Year”.

Dr. Muppuri is a visionary principal founder and CEO of INDIES PHARMA JA LTD and under his able stewardship the organization has become a force to reckon with in the ‘Banded generic pharmaceuticals’ and distribution in Jamaica. Dr. Muppuri is also a well-established and successful entrepreneur in diversified industries ranging from Pharmaceuticals & Health care / Medical Education. Dr. Muppuri is also the Founder BIOPRIST PHARMACEUTICALS NORTH AMERICA & BIOPRIST LAS AMERICAS.

His quest to design, develop and establish the road for a world class Medical and Health Sciences Institution, Business Process Outsourcing and ICT Industry in the Caribbean has led towards his recent acquisition of a multimillion dollar US corporate major’s (JOCKEY INTERNATIONAL USA) industrial properties in Western Jamaica. Dr. Muppuri will be embracing additional responsibility as the President of the upcoming “BIOPRIST INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES” & “BIOPRIST KNOWLEDGE PARKS”.

During his 10year journey as an entrepreneur his accomplishments were highly commended and well recognized nationally and internationally by the various Organizations and Regulatory bodies. Dr. Muppuri lives in the United States and Jamaica, survived by his wife and a Daughter and Son.

3. 2007 Employment Creations Award by the PSOJ as an initiative from Cable & Wireless Jamaica to recognize the entrepreneurial activities in Jamaica for creating sustainable employment.

4. 2008 – CEO & Founder Dr. Guna Muppuri was given the FIRST 'Good Physician of the Year Award’ by the Medical Association of Jamaica.

5. 2008 - National Quality Award for Excellence in Business received from the Prime Minister of Jamaica/Bureau of standards & Ministry of Industry & Commerce-Jamaica.

6. 2009 - Century International Quality ERA Award in Geneva-Switzerland by the Business Initiative Directions from Madrid, Spain in recognition of its Total Quality Management.

7. 2009 - Nation Builder Award by the NCB Foundation – Jamaica for its INNOVATION in the business.

8. 2009/10 – CEO & Founder Dr. Guna Muppuri has been chosen as one of the finalist for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Jamaica Association of the Young Professionals & Sagicor Life Ltd.

9. 2011 – National Quality Award for Excellence in Business by the “Bureau of Standards-Jamaica”.


10. In 2012 listed as the top 4 in the list of young Entrepreneurs in the “THE ENTREPRENEURIAL CHALLENGE CONTEST 2012” hosted by SCOTIA BANK & NATIONWIDE.
