The Honorable Ana M. Guevara is a respected figure in both government and business sectors with extensive experience in international trade and development. She is President of AVENTI Associates, a strategic trade and development advisory firm in Miami, Florida. Her vision is to help organizations optimize the nexus of international business and social impact through strategic partnerships.
She has been a former Vice President for two fortune 50 companies, Senate confirmed presidential appointee, and active member of non-profit executive boards. Her excellent track record of achievement is a result of optimizing the nexus of international policy and business with social impact through strategic partnerships. Multi-lingual, she has led numerous successful teams in multi-cultural situations. She has steered the formulation of tactical public policy and mediated before international organizations and government officials at the highest levels. She is a seasoned global public speaker with media and at public events.
Ms. Guevara’s government experience includes a Senate confirmed appointment in 2008 as the Alternate Executive Director to the World Bank Group where she represented the United States on the Boards of Directors. Previously, in 2006 Ms. Guevara was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary of Trade for Service Industries at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she oversaw the national tourism office for the United States. During 1989-1993,she served as Special Assistant for International Transportation and Trade in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Transportation.
Ms. Guevara also has extensive experience in the private sector. She was with UPS from 1993-2006, in Washington DC as International Public Affairs Manager, and then in Miami as Vice President Public Affairs for Latin America. Ms. Guevara also served as Walmart’s Vice President for Corporate Affairs Latin America in Miami during 2010-2011.
