About me
Firo Elhassan is an entrepreneur with both public and private sector experience covering Agriculture and Agro-processing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Policy and Governance. She is the Founder of Laalfi Farms Nigeria Limited, set up to reduce post-harvest losses and promote health through nutrition while empowering small-holder farmers. Her products include dehydrated fruit pieces, fruit powders, vegetable powders and flours which contain no additives or preservatives. Firo is an alumni of several programmes including the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (2019), Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) (2020) (AWE is part of the White House-led Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative), Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, UK Future Females’ Business School, Women Entrepreneurship for Africa Acceleration programme amongst others. A Master’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University, Firo also has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with minors in French and Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University. She is currently a Business Development Service Provider (BDSP) to Arya Women and a lead trainer on the Women in Digital Business (WIDB) programme established by the United Nations International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO) and Microsoft Philanthropies to bridge the digital divide for women entrepreneurs in the developing world. She has successfully completed 2 Certification courses in Women Entrepreneurship and Data Science from Cornell University, U. S. A.
