Description
The Inter-American Development Bank invites consulting firms to submit their Expression of Interest to support the implementation of Belize's National Land Use Policy in the municipalities of Corozal, Dangriga, Punta Gorda, and Benque Viejo. The objective is to develop territorial planning tools adapted to local conditions, incorporating criteria of climate resilience, gender equality, and community participation.
1. Territorial and institutional diagnosis
Assess land use patterns, urban pressures, institutional capacities, climate risks, and planning priorities in the four municipalities.
2. Municipal coordination and participation
Establish multisectoral planning groups, identify key actors, and facilitate institutional consultation and coordination processes.
3. Development and validation of territorial guidelines
Prepare land use guidelines adapted to each municipality, incorporating criteria of climate risk, territorial suitability, and development control. Coordinate their validation and approval with the Ministry of Natural Resources.
4. Practical tools and technical assistance
Develop illustrated guides for builders, developers, and communities, and provide technical assistance to integrate the guidelines into municipal planning, development, and, where appropriate, budgeting decisions.
Interested companies should carefully review the registration requirements on the relevant IDB portal and ensure that all requested information is completed before submitting their Statement of Interest (EOI).
