Description
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) of Trinidad and Tobago has issued this Request for Information (RFI) to gauge market interest in the development of three seawater desalination plants. This initiative aligns with the Government’s vision to provide citizens with a 24/7 reliable water supply. By utilizing Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) technology, the project aims to augment water supply at critical coastal points and reduce the nation's dependence on rainfall-reliant surface and groundwater sources, ensuring long-term water security against climate change.
Scope of services
- Infrastructure Development: Design and construction of Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) plants at Moruga/Morne Diablo, Mayaro, and Charlotteville.
- Public-Private Partnership (PPP): Leveraging private sector financing, technological innovation, and operational expertise to manage the facilities.
- Operational Excellence: Ensuring full compliance with WHO and national drinking water quality standards.
- Sustainability: Incorporating climate resilience, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability principles into the facility designs.
- Reliability: Augmenting supply to achieve a continuous 24/7 service for the designated coastal regions.
