Description
The Republic of Guatemala, through the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS), has requested financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the Program for the Strengthening of the Institutional Network of Health Services (PRORISS). This call aims to hire a consulting firm to develop the technical studies and designs necessary for the construction of the new National Blood Center. This project is vital to centralize and optimize the collection, processing and distribution of blood and its derivatives nationwide, guaranteeing transfusion safety and the strengthening of the public hospital network.
Scope of consultancy:
- Base and feasibility studies: Preparation of the feasibility study of services, geotechnical and topographic analysis, and review of the medical-functional program.
- Architectural design and engineering: Development of the comprehensive architectural project, specialized engineering and preparation of final construction plans.
- Equipment planning: Design of the medical and technical equipment plan with their respective specifications.
- Environmental management and risks: Preparation of the environmental impact study and risk analysis for the infrastructure.
- Budget and tender: Definition of work lines, detailed budgets and technical requirements for the future construction and equipment phase.
Qualification Requirements:
- Legality and trajectory: Current legal registration (Mercantile Registry/SAT) with at least 10 years of experience and commercial line related to the services.
- General experience: Minimum of 10 years in planning and design of building infrastructure projects, supported by settlements or contracts.
- Specific experience: Design of at least 3 health projects, including at least one that contains clinical laboratories or blood banks (preferably blood centers).
- Process: A short list of between 5 and 8 firms will be formed. Joint venture or subcontracting partnership is allowed.
