Description
The Dominican Republic has requested financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the Integrated and Sustainable Solid Waste Management Program in Greater Santo Domingo. In this framework, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources invites eligible consulting firms to submit their expressions of interest for the execution of a systematic environmental monitoring program. This project is essential to establish the necessary technical baseline that will allow the technical closure and environmental recovery of the Duquesa landfill.
Scope of the consultancy
Services are focused on the Water and Sanitation sector and include:
- Baseline construction: Monthly measurement of physical and environmental parameters at the Duquesa landfill over a period of two (2) years.
- Design and implementation of the monitoring plan: Systematic monitoring of critical components such as air, water, soil, biogas and geotechnical stability.
- Impact assessment: Verification of the effectiveness of the control, prevention and mitigation measures implemented during the technical closure phases of the landfill.
Qualification and Process Requirements:
- The selection will be made in accordance with the IDB's Policies for the Selection and Hiring of Consultants. Key aspects include:
- Eligibility: Open to firms from IDB member countries. The formation of joint ventures or subcontracting is permitted.
- Required Experience: Firms must demonstrate organizational ability and prior experience in services of a similar nature and complexity.
- Short list: A minimum of five (5) and a maximum of eight (8) signatures will be selected to make up the final list.
