Description
Suriname, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture (MINOW), has financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the program "Consolidating Access to Inclusive and Quality Education in Suriname". This call invites eligible consulting firms to submit their expressions of interest.
Scope of the consultancy
Main objective: Elaboration of the comprehensive, sustainable and cost-efficient design for the construction of two (2) new integral school units (grades 1 to 16) in the district of Wanica.
Detail of the school complexes:
Scholencomplex (Houttuin Resort): Capacity for 1,380 students, with an estimated construction area of 8,757.80 m² and outdoor area of 2,085.80 m² (total land area: 6,944 m²).
Scholencomplex (Hannaslust): Capacity for 1,410 students, with an estimated construction area of 10,331.75 m² and outdoor area of 3,350.80 m² (total land area: 8,846 m²).
Service stages and timeframe: The timeframe for the design phase is 6 months. It includes the performance of preliminary studies, conceptual design, architectural design, preparation of construction documents (structural, electrical, hydrosanitary, HVAC and fire plans) and the final executive report with referential budget and metric calculations.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
Experience Required: Minimum three (3) years of experience in projects of a similar nature and have successfully completed at least one (1) similar contract in the last three (3) years (previous experience in Suriname or the Caribbean region will be an asset).
International organizations: Prove at least three (3) years of experience in services or consultancies financed by international development organizations.
Key personnel: Availability to hire professional team in the areas of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering.
Required documentation: Letter of interest, accredited institutional profile and portfolio with graphic and technical documentation of relevant projects executed.
Selection and conditions
Regulatory framework: The process will be conducted in accordance with the IDB's Consulting Policies to structure a shortlist of between 5 and 8 eligible firms.
Partnerships and modality: Joint venture partnerships or the inclusion of sub-consultants are allowed. Expressions of interest by electronic means will not be permitted (delivery must be made only in writing and in physical form).
