Updated Tender - Development Program of the CA-9 North Corridor: El Rancho – Teculután Subsection

Description

The Government of Guatemala, through the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV), with financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), launched a call for the prequalification of contractor companies that will execute the expansion work of Route CA-9 North, El Rancho – Teculután subsection.

The project seeks to improve and expand to four lanes a section of approximately 30.7 km in length, in the department of Zacapa, with the aim of reducing travel times and the costs of transporting people and goods. The work includes rehabilitation of the existing route, construction of two additional lanes, acquisition of land and construction of 7 bridges along the section.

The prequalification process follows IDB policies (GN-2349-15, May 2019) and is open to companies from eligible countries. The estimated execution period for the work is 36 months.
