Description
The Bahamas, through the Ministry of Energy and Transport, has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the "Reconstruction With Resilience In The Energy Sector In The Bahamas" program. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) invites eligible suppliers to submit sealed bids for the acquisition of power transformers.
Scope of supply
Main objective: Supply and delivery of two (2) 8 MVA substation transformers to support the reconstruction and rehabilitation of resilient transmission and distribution infrastructure in Abaco.
Qualification requirements and conditions
Procurement method: International Competitive Bidding (ICB) conducted in accordance with IDB Procurement Policies for Goods and Works.
Experience requirements: Execution of at least two (2) similar supply or manufacturing contracts for transformers within the last five (5) years, alongside documentary evidence of technical compliance.
Margin of preference: Granted to national contractors or joint ventures as specified in the bidding documents.
Guarantee required: Bidders must submit a Bid Security Declaration alongside their offer.

Access to documents: Complete sets of bidding documents in English are available via the Government of The Bahamas eProcurement portal (Bahamas.bonfirehub.com).
Submission mode: Electronic submissions are permitted through the eProcurement platform, or physical delivery to the Project Execution Unit. Public bid opening will take place both physically and virtually via an online meeting link.
