The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) invites specialized consulting firms to submit proposals for the end-to-end design, organization, implementation, and systematization of a specialized virtual capacity-building program for female entrepreneurs in the food and beverage sector.
The objective of this consultancy is to strengthen knowledge and entrepreneurial capabilities related to industrial decarbonization, climate resilience, and sustainable business transformation across Latin America and the Caribbean.
1. Scope of Services & Methodological Approach
End-to-End Program Delivery: Develop the pedagogical and methodological approach, coordinate virtual sessions, manage participant engagement, and facilitate the involvement of qualified international experts and practitioners.
Target Audience: Target women entrepreneurs operating in the food and beverage ecosystem, prioritizing candidates with demonstrated interest or potential to implement decarbonization, sustainability, and climate resilience initiatives within their businesses.
Systematization & Knowledge Products: Document the implementation process, assess participant learning outcomes and satisfaction, and generate recommendations to enable the scaling, replication, and continuous improvement of similar initiatives.
2. Key Activities & Execution Phases
Inception & Work Plan: Conduct alignment sessions with the IDB project team to define delivery modalities, session duration, participant selection strategies, and the detailed execution schedule.
Faculty & Participant Management: Launch and manage a transparent Call for Participants, recruit a diverse faculty team (sustainability specialists, investors, industry leaders), conduct technical dry-runs, and deliver preparatory briefings prior to each session.
Digital Ecosystem & Pedagogical Tools: Develop a Course Handbook (for students/tutors), a Course Playbook (for behind-the-scenes logistics), a virtual whiteboard (e.g., Miro or Mural), and a digital library with case studies, reading materials, and exercises.
Technical & Logistical Facilitation: Manage virtual teaching platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, Webex), interactive evaluation tools (Slido, Typeform, ClassMarker), translation services (when required), live session recordings, and participant motivation strategies to ensure high retention.
3. Core Deliverables
The consulting firm shall deliver three comprehensive technical packages:
Deliverable 1 — Work Plan: Detailed methodology, timeline, implementation schedule, and coordination mechanisms.
Deliverable 2 — Course Design Package: Complete set containing the Course Handbook, Course Playbook, digital library, virtual whiteboard, learning materials, evaluation methodology, participant selection results, and confirmed faculty roster prior to course launch.
Deliverable 3 — Final Implementation Report: Comprehensive closing report featuring:
A two-page executive summary with data visualizations.
Complete participant, faculty, tutor, and speaker databases.
Satisfaction survey analysis and training completion certificates.
Video recordings of all live sessions, lectures, and masterclasses.
Systematization of lessons learned, implementation challenges, bottlenecks, and actionable recommendations for regional scaling and replication.
