Rapa Nui Water and Electricity Services Sustainability Program

Description

Sociedad Agrícola y Servicios Isla de Pascua SpA, known as SASIPA, has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank for the Program for the Sustainability of Water and Electricity Services in Rapa Nui. A portion of these funds will be allocated to the infrastructure projects described below.

Project Scope

The works follow a lump sum turnkey modality and include the design, construction, monitoring, and maintenance of a photovoltaic plant equipped with a Battery Energy Storage System in Mataveri, Easter Island. This project also requires the hybrid integration of the new plant with existing thermal generation systems.

Project Timeline

The estimated total term for the project is 1,076 calendar days. This period comprises 346 days for design and construction, followed by a 60-day trial period or "white march," and concludes with 670 days dedicated to operation and maintenance.

Bidding Process

SASIPA invites eligible bidders to submit sealed bids through an International Public Bidding process. This call is governed by the current edition of the IDB Policies for the Acquisition of Goods and Works and is open to bidders from eligible countries that are not sanctioned by the Bank.
