Description
The Republic of El Salvador, through the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT), has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the implementation of the Rural Roads Program. The main objective of this call is to hire consulting services for the technical supervision of improvement works on the unpaved road network in the department of La Paz. This project seeks to optimize rural connectivity, ensure the resilience of infrastructure in the face of climatic phenomena and boost the local economy through a better circulation of goods and people.
Scope of the consultancy
The services are part of the Transport sector and include the technical, administrative and environmental supervision of the following sections:
- Section CA02 – El Sauce: Supervision of the improvement works on the PAZ32S rural road.
- PAZ11S – Hoja de Sal Canton section: Supervision of the works on the PAZ11S route, covering the districts of Santiago Nonualco and El Rosario.
Qualification and Process Requirements
- The selection will be carried out in accordance with the IDB's Policies for the Selection and Hiring of Consultants. Key aspects of the process include:
- Eligibility: Open participation to consulting firms from IDB member countries. Joint venture or subcontractor inclusion is permitted.
- Qualifications: Interested firms must demonstrate technical ability and relevant experience in supervising roadworks of similar nature and complexity.
- Short List: The MOPT will pre-select a list of between five (5) and eight (8) qualified firms for the final stage of the process.
- Presentation: Expressions of interest must be submitted in writing, either in printed form at the Ministry's offices in San Salvador or via email.
