Description
The IDB intends to hire consulting services to carry out a diagnosis on the status of habitat banking schemes in Colombia, identifying the barriers, opportunities for improvement and enabling conditions necessary to strengthen the Habitat Banking Strategy in Colombia and its governance.
The scope of services includes:
- Identify barriers to the implementation of habitat banks in Colombia.
- Propose solutions to the barriers identified to achieve greater consistency in the registration, monitoring and follow-up of habitat banks.
- Review other financial instruments and payment of results that allow private financing of restoration and conservation of biodiversity, highlighting the possible connection with financial markets and the Paris Agreement. (eg Social Impact Bonds, Debt for Nature Swaps, Natural Capital Companies, among others).
- Identify the necessary enabling conditions to implement habitat banks in public, private, community or shared governance scenarios.
