Hi, everybody. I am Francisco Perdomo. I worked during 3 years as Cell Culture Specialist improving Production processes with prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells to produce recombinant proteins (Biotherapeutic proteins like cytokines, vaccines and monoclonal antibodies). During this time, the company grows and the needs to produce more proteins to cover the market demand increased so, our team was on charge to improve the processes to produced and recovered more recombinant protein in R&D department. Our team achieved the goal and we improved the yield and scale for 3 production processes and we performed the Transfer Technology. Then I started to work with Analytical Development Area in R&D department. Since I changed to the Analytical area I learned a lot of Analytical techniques that helps me to understand every level of the biotherapeutic protein production. The Analytical Methods are the eyes to discover opportunity areas in the processes. We characterize 14 different Biotherapeutic molecules that are produced in the company. This characterization is performed with physicochemical (Chromatographic, Spectroscopic, Gravimetric, Calorimetric, Capillary electrophoresis, Mass spectrometry) and biological (Potency and affinity assays) techniques. The information acquired and processed through these techniques support the technical documents to register these molecules in the regulatory agencies. With this knowledge our team helps the company to grow. From engineering processes to marketing area. One of the opportunities that I have was to collaborate successfully with different areas in different interdisciplinary projects. I trained a lot of different people in the analytical techniques that helps our laboratory and the company to grow.
