Christian Kingombe in March 2017 co-founded the 4IP Group LLC where he is the Managing Partner after a long career working for a number of International Organizations; Academia; Think Tanks ; and Private Sector [COWI Consulting Group (2006-2007); and 4IP Group (2017 – on-going)]. Besides being in charge of all the activities within 4IP’s Impact Investing Cluster he is also part of the 4IP Infrastructure Impact Fund Management Team, which targets a fund size of $100 Mn. Since last November 2019 he is acting as a Partner Specialist at Impact Investment Exchange Pte Ltd (IIX) who he represents in Switzerland and Zambia to help take impact investing to the tipping point. This is e.g. done by being a member of the GSGII National Advisory Board for Impact Investing in Zambia. He has also just started acting as an Advisor for the setting up of a $30Mn African Church Asset Development Fund. In May 2020 appointed advisor for the Swiss Impact Investing Association (SIIA). He has earned a Ph.D. in Applied Development Economics at successively Centre for Development and Poverty Reduction (2004-2007) & Centre for Environmental Policy (2008-2010) at Imperial College London & University of London (2004-2010), UK, as well as a MSc. & BSc. from Economics Department at the University of Copenhagen (1993-1999, 2002), Denmark. Also on 8 June 2017 he obtained a Certificate of Achievement after successfully completing Fundamentals of Impact Investing: A View from the Field a course of study offered by the IIX Impact Institute. Christian Kingombe has written more than 100 articles, working papers, book chapters, reports, policy briefs, newsletter/paper articles and blogs. He has also written widely on development finance; infrastructure financing & public private partnerships, regional integration & trade; and sustainable/impact investing issues.
