Sharon Hughes moved from the US to Belize in 2008 for the specific purpose of founding GSR Energy, Ltd. Sharon spent over 20 years as a Project Manager and a Project Engineer, managing and optimizing projects of significant magnitude and complexity in both the steel and the refining industries. Her in-house project teams worked with EPC firms to complete the project design, development, construction and O & M phases for many multi-million dollar process industry projects. Sharon managed several Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) and Front-End Optimization studies and supervised EPC contractors. Her teams received approval for Environmental Impact Assessments that involved known toxic chemicals. From 1982 to 2008 Sharon worked for US Steel, Northrop DSD, Amoco (now BP) and Dwyer Instruments.
Sharon’s primary focus is process control and optimization; whereby saving cents per gallon result in a direct, positive impact on the bottom line.
Sharon holds a BS Metallurgical Engineering and a MS Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, with post graduate EE studies at the University of Notre Dame. Sharon is a US national and a Belize Permanent Resident with a home in Belize.
