Renewal and Recertification of PM4R Methodologies Credentials

The certifications of the PM4R Program of the Inter-American Development Bank (PM4R Professional, PM4R Leadership, PM4R Agile, and PM4R Expert Certificate) accredit that their holders are capable of implementing the standards of the PM4R methodologies in development and social impact projects to improve their outcome. These certifications are valid for three years and are issued exclusively by the IDB through a digital credential. 

The renewal and recertification processes for PM4R certification holders are personal and individual, they depend on the responsibility of each interested party. Both processes are free of charge for applicants. 

RENEWAL PROCESS 

PM4R certifications are valid for three years. Holders can request renewal from three months before the credential's expiration date to six months after it expires, by filling out the form available on this site. The IDB's PM4R team will evaluate the request and may approve, reject, or request additional information if necessary. If the renewal is approved, the participant will receive an email notification with their new digital credential, valid for three more years. 

RECERTIFICATION PROCESS  

If a PM4R certification holder does not complete the renewal process within the established timeframe and more than six months have passed since their credential expired, they must take a recertification exam for the corresponding methodology. PM4R will provide materials and simulation activities to support preparation and training. The participant will have two attempts to pass the exam. 

For PM4R Expert, PM4R will provide materials from all three methodologies for the applicant to review and study.
