Mate Herbal is a Brazilian company, located in Southern Brazil, a pure organic mate producer which began herbal cultivation in 1993. Selling Yerba Mate in all its forms to different markets, we are looking to expand the business and bring Yerba Mate and the benefits of the "drink of the gods", as it was named by the Guarani Indians, to the rest of the world. Our main goal has always been to make the most of the bioactive properties of mate tea - 100% organic, respecting hygiene and health standards in all steps of production, industrialization, and storage to guarantee the quality of the product and Fair Trade. Yerba Mate (Ilex Paraguariensis) is a plant native to the sub-tropical region of South America and its benefits have been known since ancient times by the indigenous people who inhabited the region. It provides several benefits as it has a large amount of nutrients that are essential to health. The yerba mate tree grows up to 8 meters high and requires good rainfall and can withstand negative temperatures. It blooms from September to December and its fruiting takes place from January to March. In 1968, Mr. Ceni the owner of the farm, acted as an enthusiast in the creation of a “green belt” around the town called Chopinzinho, in the south of Brazil. On his journey to initiate reforestation, he found the presence of yerba mate next to other trees; a fact that drew his attention due to the vigor and quality of seedlings. In 1990 begins genetic selection and the search for the best specimens in the region to be the mother trees, intending to propagate by cutting which allows having clone trees, maintaining the genetic material and all their characteristics.
