Descripción
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is carrying out this operation. For this operation, the IDB intends to contract the specific consulting services described in this Request for Expression of Interest. The expressions of interest must be received by the IDB Portal for Operations Executed by the Bank http://beo-procurement.iadb.org/home before January 31, 2024, at 5 p.m. (Washington DC time). To access the IDB Portal, companies must generate a cadastral account, including all the data requested by the Portal. In the event that two requested data are not pre-loaded, the desktop will not be able to participate in this or any other selection process carried out by the BID for operational work. If your company has previously registered, you must confirm that you have all the data complete and up-to-date before submitting a statement of interest.
This consulting service will focus on the following studies for Chile: (i) Carry out a probabilistic assessment of the risk of forest fires. Here, quantify the economic losses that could occur in Chile during different return periods of forest fires (for example, forest fires on a scale of once per decade or once per 50 years); (ii) Based on this quantitative estimate of economic losses, the study will identify priority measures effective to reduce the risks and discuss how they can be combined to maximize the return on investment. The methodological approach of the study refers to an IDB research tool known as the Public Investment Profile for Disaster Risk Reduction: A Macroeconômico Study (IDB, 2020) See also the Public Investment Profile for Disaster Risk Reduction: Beach Erosão and Risk Mitigation Model for Barbados Case Study relevant to this consultancy structure.
Note that this consultancy does not include a collection of primary information (such as a collection of field rainfall data). The study will be developed based on existing data and references. The execution of the study should last approximately nine months, starting in March 2024. All results will be developed in Spanish. The consultancies you choose are interested in being able to obtain additional information during business hours, at 09h00. - 5pm (Washington DC time), sending e-mail to: Claudio Osorio (claudioos@iadb.org) and Hori Tsuneki (tsunekih@iadb.org); with copy to Maria Alejandra Escovar (mariaesc@iadb.org) until January 19, 2024.
