NewEra Metal Resources (“NewEra Metal” or “the Company”) is focussed on the identification of projects with potential for strategic metal production in the Latin America-Caribbean region (“LAC”). This region has a long mining history dating back to colonial Spanish times, and it continues to be a popular destination for mining investment, with 29% of global spending in 2015 (SNL Metals and Mining, 2016). Strategic metals have typically experienced under-investment in new project development, and have been conventionally dominated by a single supplier or country. This is leading to concerns over security of supply, with such metals commonly referred to as “critical metals”. Some of these metals are key component raw materials for the energy and technology sectors. NewEra’s management team has significant technical experience across four continents including Latin America, the current focus, which is strengthened by practical knowledge of local culture and successful liaison with local stakeholders.
