Yamá was born to democratize hair care, making available high quality products with an excellent cost-benefit ratio. It was born as a sun that shines for everyone. It was born with the story of Mr. Yamamura. The son of immigrants in Brazil, he entered a hairdressing school. And what started as a trade to help his family became a passion and a thriving career. In his salon, he missed the right products, so he decided to create their own. That’s when, in 1967, he formulated the multifunctional cream named Yamasterol, which, even after five decades, still occupies the position of market icon. Since then, the Yamá has undergone many transformations. It has gone through seven of the nine currencies of the country. It went from a space of 5 thousand m² to one of 22 thousand m². It has expanded its portfolio and created new lines to surprise its consumers. It launched the first bleaching powder for curly hair, awarded in 2019 by ABIHPEC. Currently, there are more than 300 employees who dedicate themselves daily to honor the history and build the future of the brand. All are inspired by the solidity of the mountain and the energy of the sun to continue growing and opening paths towards a horizon of possibilities.
