Unicep is a Private College in Higher Education. Unicep is maintained by ASSER - Associação de Escolas Reunidas. ASSER maintains the Centro Universitário Central Paulista - UNICEP, in São Carlos, and the Higher School of Technology and Education, with headquarters in the cities of Rio Claro and Porto Ferreira. Founded 44 years ago by professors Oswaldo Aparecido Ienco ("In Memoriam") and Antônio Carlos Vilela Braga ("In Memoriam"), the Association of Schools Reunidas aims to develop Higher Education in the Central Region of São Paulo, offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses -graduation with academic excellence, aiming at the formation of the citizen and professional. The history of the Association of Schools Reunidas began with the Centro Universitário Central Paulista - UNICEP, which since 1972 has been working in São Carlos and region in the formation of professionals prepared for the labor market, becoming a reference as one of the main University Centers of the State of São Paulo. In 2000, the Association of Schools Reunidas started the activities of the School of Technology and Education of Rio Claro and, the following year, created the School of Technology of Porto Ferreira, consolidating another stage of the project to bring to the Central Region Paulista institutions Teaching and didactic-scientific autonomy. It is in this way, sustained and integrated, that the Association of Reunited Schools has contributed significantly to the socio-economic and cultural development of the Central Region of São Paulo.
