Sankhard Company Limited, formerly Springvale Enterprises, is a family-owned Jamaican business founded in Portland in 2011 and now headquartered in St. Andrew/Kingston. Springvale is Jamaica’s first brand in the salad dressings arena. The key point of difference of the food products is the Jamaican fruit bases and the focus on fresh-sourced produce. For many years the Springvale Estate farm near Fruitful Vale, Portland supplied Blue Mountain coffee beans for sale to local coffee processors. After noticing a lack of use for local fruits a keen interest was developed in using these to create innovative, Jamaica-inspired, condiments. The Springvale vinaigrette are the flagship products developed with the idea of utilizing local Jamaican ingredients: primarily GUAVA, SORREL, OTAHEITI APPLE, JUNE PLUM and Spicy MANGO. Springvale uses fresh-sourced produce (fruits, herbs and vegetables that have recently been harvested) to make its products. The vinaigrette may be used as marinades for meat and other protein dishes thereby fulfilling the mantra of being “Your Everything Dressing”. Similarly, our line of Springvale OMD! (Oh My Dressing!) Salad Dressings showcase the diversity of Jamaican cuisine with flavours such as MANGO-GINGER, JUNE PLUM-LEMONGRASS BASIL, GUAVA-ROSEMARY, CARIBBEAN and CUCUMBER-CITRUS as well as Fruit-based THOUSAND ISLAND and CREAMY ISLAND and may also be used as dips alongside favourite party snacks. In 2015 we added PUMPKIN Ketch Up (ketchup) in both mild and spicy varieties. In 2016 we will be adding the chutneys (SORREL, JACK FRUIT and PAPAYA). The Springvale products were awarded the Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association N. Gordon–Rowe Buy Jamaican Award at their annual banquet in October 2013 and in September 2014 received the Special Recognition Award for Community Development and the Eddie Hall Award for New Manufacturer of the year. In 2014 the National Bakery selected SVE as one of the eight Bold Ones for 2014.
