The National Fund for Craftwork Promotion (FONART) Is a federal public trust, administered under the Social Development Ministry, created as a response to the needs and promote the Mexican craftwork, contributing to the generation of greater income of the craftsmen and craftswomen families through their social, human and economic development. FONART was created the 28th May 1974 commanded by the Executive government branch with the social purpose of encouraging the artisanal activities of the country. Vision Fonart is a government institution that designs and implements public policy of development, promotion and marketing of artisanal activity; enhancing the research of this sector as well as the current regulations, contributing to increase the quality of life for the artisans and transmit the cultural heritage of Mexico. Our philosophy is based on social commitment, honesty, impartiality, clarity, equity, quality, professionalism, respect and sensitivity. Mision We are the lead institution of the artisanal activity, with leadership, reliability and competitiveness and accompanies artisans in the process from production to the effective merchandising of their products in the global market.
