Description
The Republic of Guatemala has requested financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the "Sustainable Forest Management Project" and will allocate part of these funds to the contracting of specialized consulting services.
The National Forest Institute (INAB) invites eligible consulting firms to express their interest in providing technical and legal assistance services to producers in 52 prioritized municipalities in four regions of the country (Petén, Verapaces/Quiché/Huehuetenango, Northeast and Southeast). The objective is to facilitate access to forestry incentives through the preparation of dossiers, the design of training programs in good forest and agroforestry management practices, and the development of plant supply strategies and management of silvopastoral systems.
A short list of five (5) to eight (8) signatures will be formed. The selection process will be carried out under the Selection Based on Quality and Cost (SBCC) method, in accordance with the Policies for the Selection and Hiring of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank.
Firms from eligible countries may participate, individually or in partnership (Joint Venture). Firms must demonstrate expertise in:
Preparation of forest management plans, Agroforestry Systems (AFS) and Silvopastoral Systems (SSP).
Management of files for access to forestry incentives (preferably in Guatemala).
Implementation of technical training programs and technical assistance programs with budgets of more than 3 million quetzals.
Financial capacity through audited financial statements for 2023, 2024 and preferably 2025.
Firms can express interest in the four regions or specify the regions of their preference. Expressions of interest must be submitted in writing or delivered in hard copy.
Note: Tender documents and annexes are available in the original language of the country.
