Description
The Republic of Guatemala has requested financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the Sustainable Forest Management Project and intends to use a portion of the funds for contracts for consulting services that boost trade in the sector.
The National Forest Institute (INAB) is looking for firms to design a commercial intelligence program that identifies market niches and innovation, improving the competitiveness of forest products through technical studies and direct connection with national and international buyers.
The main scopes of the consultancy include:
- Methodology and Analysis: Design of tools to capture commercial data and identify competitive niches.
- Benchmarking: Implementation of comparative programs of international standards for innovative products.
- Business Roundtables: Organization of commercial linkage events and dissemination of regional strategic information.
- Technical Guidelines: Identification of key players in local and global forest markets.
For the formation of the short list (5 to 8 firms), interested parties must demonstrate experience in the design of forestry or agro-industrial market programs, value chain studies and commercial intelligence. Previous experience with public institutions or international organisations will be an asset. Firms can partner in Joint Ventures to strengthen their ratings.
Note: Tender documents and annexes are available in the original language of the country.
