Description
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is seeking to hire a firm to carry out the survey of a subsample of the Survey of Science, Technology and Innovation Activities (ACTI) in Ecuador. The objective is to generate updated indicators that allow evaluating the state of innovation and scientific development at the regional and local levels, with a special focus on the productive chain of the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors.
1. Components of the Survey
- Science and Technology (TC): Application of surveys to universities, public research institutes, teaching hospitals and non-profit organizations to collect data on human talent, R+D projects, expenditure executed and infrastructure.
- Innovation Survey: Collection of data in companies on sources of financing, patents, cooperation and intellectual property practices. Traceability and sustainability variables for the agro-industrial sector will be included.
2. Methodology and processing
- Sample design: Proposal of a probabilistic and stratified sample size by sector and company size, considering scenarios of regional or provincial coverage.
- Hybrid collection: Implementation of both face-to-face and telematic information capture methods for the three-year period 2023-2025.
- Quality control: Execution of fingering, critique and coding processes following INEC's technical manuals to detect inconsistencies and ensure data accuracy.
3. Expected results
The firm will deliver refined databases and technical reports that will serve as input for strategic decision-making and the analysis of the adoption of international standards in Ecuadorian production chains.
