Description
The Republic of Panama, through the Ministry of Environment (MiAmbiente), has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the Support Program for the Conservation and Management of Cultural and Natural Heritage. The objective of this tender is to strengthen the infrastructure of protection and tourist attention in key protected areas, specifically in the historic Camino de Cruces.
The project is a comprehensive contract that covers from the preliminary studies to the delivery of the finished work. The aim is to provide the park with modern and sustainable facilities that allow better management of the flow of visitors and provide decent housing and operating conditions for park ranger personnel. The estimated period for the total execution of the contract is 24 months.
The scope of services includes:
Technical studies: Carrying out topographic surveys, soil studies and environmental impact assessments necessary for the site.
Architectural and engineering design: Preparation of detailed plans for the visitor center, the checkpoint and the residence of the park rangers, respecting the natural environment.
Infrastructure construction: Execution of civil works, including basic service systems (water, energy, sanitation) adapted to conservation areas.
Control and surveillance post: Equipment of strategic points for monitoring access to the Camino de Cruces.
Bidding is governed by International Public Bidding (IPL) procedures. Those interested can access the documents free of charge through the Panama Compra portal (Public Act No. 2026-0-27-02-08-LP-000298). It is important to note that no margin of preference will be granted to national contractors and all bids must include a Bid Maintenance Statement.
